BC Qazaq Community Celebrates Formation as Official Nonprofit Organization

On November 20, 2024, the BC Qazaq Community proudly marked its official registration as a nonprofit organization, heralding the beginning of a new era for Central Asians in British Columbia. This milestone solidifies the community's mission to unite, preserve, and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Kazakhstan and other Central Asian nations while fostering inclusivity and multicultural collaboration in Canada.

Founded on shared values of hospitality, tradition, and mutual support, the BC Qazaq Community has grown from a small group of families to a thriving society committed to empowering its members and building strong ties within the broader Canadian cultural mosaic. This official recognition as a nonprofit opens new doors for meaningful projects, from language and cultural education programs to youth leadership initiatives and newcomer support services.

“This is more than just an administrative step—it’s a moment that symbolizes the strength and potential of our community,” said the organization's leadership. “We are committed to preserving our traditions, supporting one another, and sharing our vibrant heritage with Canadians of all backgrounds.”

The BC Qazaq Community’s new status will enhance its ability to organize cultural events such as Nauryz celebrations, dombra lessons, and traditional dance workshops while also offering resources for newcomers navigating life in Canada. With its nonprofit designation, the organization aims to secure funding and partnerships to further its vision of a thriving, inclusive society.

As the community celebrates this historic milestone, it looks forward to a future filled with connection, cultural pride, and collaboration. The BC Qazaq Community invites everyone who shares its values to join in this exciting journey toward unity and growth.

Together, we are stronger.
